MISSISSIPPI MUD
My
students named this scrappy, pieced quilt. It began as a simplification of a block called Mississippi
Star and features "friendship stars" floating on a background of assorted dark and medium prints.
The piecing is easy and uses lots of prints! The key is to pick a category of prints and go wild --
30's, Civil War, and Bali's have been the most successful! I recommend using The Angler II (available on the
NOTIONS page) with this pattern to make sewing all the "snowball" corners easier! Crib,
lap, twin, and double/queen sizes. Click on the photo for a larger view of the quilt.
